Here's To A Great 2022!

27 Feb 2022 12:16 PM | JIM BROCK (Administrator)

Winter greetings to all of our members at the United States-Canada Golfing Fellowship of Rotarians!  Having recently moved from the central coast of California to Reno Nevada, I am really looking forward to Spring and warmer temperatures.  I hope all of you are doing well following a tumultuous 2020 and 2021.

When I last wrote it was following a successful 2019 tournament in Monterey, California and accepting the nomination as President of this great Fellowship.  We were all excited about the 2020 tournament in Canada.  Who knew?  Anyway, two years and two tournament cancellations later, we all can look forward to seeing each other again in Denver, Colorado in September.  I want to thank Lynn Lewis and Jim Sissons for their efforts, planning, and subsequent difficult decisions in organizing and then having to cancel the Canadian event two years in a row.

But let’s move forward!  Greg Podd and the Evergreen Rotary Club of Denver are hosting our 2022 National Championship in the Mile High City.  Registration is open and I encourage you to sign up as soon as possible.  We will be playing two spectacular golf courses and the non-golfer events look like a lot of fun.  We see each other too infrequently as it is and it will be nearly three years since most of us have played golf and socialized with each other.

Registration information can be accessed here on our website. Sign up now and bring a friend.  If this is your first tournament with us, I guarantee you a great fellowship and golfing experience. You will make lifetime friends!

I’ll conclude with a statement from a good friend and fellow Rotarian at a recent local Rotary golf event.  At the conclusion of the round, he said “You know, if this fellowship (MBGFR) had not been formed, I would never have met any of you.  And we’ve all been friends now for at least 15 years.”  Kind of sums it all up.

Best wishes and see you in Denver,

Jim Pescatore                                                                                                                                                                                                           President, USCGFR
